Universal Music Case Study
The Brief
The Brief
Universal Music teamed up with We Are SNS to bring their new subscription service, Universal Music For Creators, to life. The goal? Make it the go-to music library for creators everywhere, helping them add licensed tracks to videos, reels, and films without the headache. From YouTube tutorials to Discord communities, we wanted to show that creating with Universal Music is not only easy, it’s fun.
What We Did
Influencer
The Approach
We created a multi-layered launch strategy that hit all the right notes. First, we tapped 5 influencers on YouTube and Instagram to create tutorial videos showing how the software works in real-life editing scenarios. To make sure these videos hit the mark, we arranged direct introductions between the creators and Universal Music, ensuring everyone knew the software inside out. The result? Content that was authentic, informative, and genuinely shareable.
Next, we repurposed the influencer content for paid media campaigns, which outperformed traditional advertising by engaging audiences in a more natural, creator-driven way. To keep momentum going, we worked with additional creators to produce organic social content, each making 10 pieces over three months, mixing tutorials with tips, tricks, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of their editing process.
Finally, we tapped into highly targeted Discord communities for video and film editors. These servers promoted three months of free access to the platform, enhanced with a Joby camera giveaway. By meeting creators where they hang out online, we generated buzz and subscriptions in spaces often missed by traditional campaigns.
The Results
The campaign struck a perfect chord, driving both awareness and engagement. Creators across platforms learned how easy it is to use Universal Music For Creators, while Discord activations added a playful, community-driven element. By blending educational content, influencer magic, and gamified promotions, SNS ensured the launch was loud, proud, and impossible to ignore.
